If you’re engaged in the subject you blog about this will shine through to your readers. Using the first person and active voice rather than third person passive (eg choose “We can help you access these collections” rather than “These collections will be made available to students by the Library”) is more engaging and easier to read. The tone is conversational and informal.
It's easy to embed multimedia too.
